Marco represents individuals at all stages of the criminal justice process, from the police investigation stage to their trial. He regularly attends the police station in order to advise and assist clients. He appears on behalf of clients in both the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court as a Higher Courts Advocate.

Marco has experience acting for individuals accused of a wide range of offences, including serious offences of violence, drug-related offences, theft-related offences and sexual offences.

Marco has an excellent track record in drafting representations to the CPS requesting that matters are reviewed and discontinued on the basis that there is either insufficient evidence to secure a realistic prospect of conviction or that it is not in the public interest to continue with the prosecution.

He has also developed expertise in defending persons who are suffering from mental illness, as well as persons who are victims of modern slavery and human trafficking. Marco is adept at negotiating referrals to the National Referral Mechanism, making representations to the Single Competent Authority and successfully running the statutory defence available under the Modern Slavery Act.
